Sausage simply filling

Breakfast sausage 100% simply filling or 2 pp original recipe found here
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey I've also used chicken which was just as good
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Kosher or sea salt to taste
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Make sausage patties to desired size and thickness. I usually get about 8 patties. Uncooked patties can be frozen up to one month.
Add patties to a large skillet and cook on medium-high heat until brown on both sides and cooked through.

I'm enjoying trying your recipes. I made the oatmeal pancakes and these sausages, and the pancakes were fabulous. The sausages...not so much. I used 99% fat free ground chicken as I wanted it to be totally PF/0 pp, and the tracker showed anything else came with points. The sausages had a nice flavor, but were very dry. I may have to succumb and use a point for these next time, and buy the 97% meat. Thoughts?

I've been enjoying them crumbled in omelets etc. I've heard of others adding chopped apple to them?? That might make them moist. You could even use a bit of light bread crumbs and an egg in them. I'll try other options next time I make them :)

Thanks. I'll try adding apple. That sounds good. I have since crumbled the cooked ones into roasted veggies with brown rice, and it's a nice combo.

Just LOVE your recipes!!
